In a large teapot, add the green tea. Add 1/2 a cup of boiling water and wait 20 seconds. Then gently swirl the teapot to rinse out the tea, and discard the water.
Add the remaining water and let the tea steep for 2 minutes. Stir in the sugar and then add the fresh mint. Let the tea steep for an additional 3 minutes.
After 3 minutes serve the tea and garnish with a fresh mint leaf.
1 tbsp. of Unflavored Green Tea
4 tbsp. of Sugar
1 Bunch of Fresh Mint
5 Cups of Boiling Filtered Water
Tips and Tricks
Try to use the highest quality green tea you can find.
If you don’t have fresh mint, you can use 4 tablespoons of good quality dried mint leaves. Only use dried mint leaves and not crushed mint leaves.
Be sure to pour the tea high above the teacups, this helps aerate the tea which significantly helps develop the flavor of the tea.
